The Attic have released a compilation of music recorded on their premises in Dunedin over the last while, a snapshot of their recent history. The occupants are forging their own way forward in a town that has been afflicted with the closing down of venues and a lack of spaces in which to propagate and share their skills. They are good enough folk to have opened up their doors for others to benefit from the creative space they have produced. Below them is a bar primarily utilised by the aging sexually active searching for partners equally inclined to use orgasm to escape the crushing weight of their fleeting mortality after an evening of sports. It’s a stark contrast to the prolific, youthful ambition of those upstairs.
